Technological trends for the future ... or this!
On Tuesday 23 February I had the opportunity to attend the seminar entitled "Future Technology Trends" organized Barcelona Technology Centre.
Beyond the purely technological and entrepreneurial orientation that I think the event was, I would highlight some of the exhibitions that I think may be interesting in the project Omnia.
Cloud computing and Os Eye
Pau Garcia-Mila, founder of eyeOS got the audience in his pocket. With the freshness of their age and personality that makes this approach possible technological concepts to the public, spoke of the possibilities of the product of your company: EyeOS. A desk-based and online Software that allows us not only have our data from any computer connected to the Internet, but also have a unified working environment regardless of the computer to work, in addition a collaborative work environment is very interesting.
In the case that we Omnia and there are some points such as Mowgli in Cornellà are beginning to investigate the possibilities that this tool would be so that users may have the same working environment and the point home, ending with the difficulties that many people have in their learning process of ICT.

E-trust and data security
This was a cross-cutting theme in several exhibitions and it came when it was introduced eyeOS proof as safer these online spaces in relation to physical devices without backup as the hard drive of your PC or the increasingly common USB. They spoke of privacy and the use of the macrocorporacions as Google and its services make our data ... to say that Google does not read our emails, but it is curious that the advertising that appears to be related to Gmail the subject of which we speak in our messages?
Kindle case and the novel "1984" George Orwell was a good example of how the current digital electronic devices endanger our privacy. Thousands of copies of "1984" downloaded to the memory of the digital book company Amazon Kindle mysteriously disappeared one day to another memory device users by surprise. Especially a girl who had already made 50 pages of a paper on the work and saw that these also disappeared ... The loss, however, has gone profitable, as Amazon has had to compensate with a few million this user. The disappearance of the book was totally unintentional because they did not have the necessary rights to publish and were forced to remove the work from its catalog.

Green IT - virtualization and environment
The environmental impact of ICT is a serious issue and it is increasingly urgent to find cleaner technologies and less harmful in its use. The virtual machines are a good example of how to dispose of their computers with different operating systems and software using the same hardware. If you want to experiment with the subject you can do with VirtualBox, a free software that lets you use different operating systems on the same machine from your normal Linux or Windows. Vertical web
Not Web 2.0 or Web 3.0 ... vertical, and that is? Imagine a website where you can add layers to go with your comments, your contributions ... and each layer retains the authorship and content without modifying the original source. Learn to work with layers of photo editing software types The Gimp? Well, but applied to web sites ... a new way to share and make.
